Tom Merrill Recreation Area is a very unique area located on both sides of Bayou Bodcau. The area offers a Class A campground with 20 campsites, 12 picnic sites, a pavilion, playground, fitness equipment, comfort station, shower house, and one of the best hiking and biking trails in the area. Since Bayou Bodcau Area is a Wildlife Management Area, a game cleaning station is located within the camping area. A new disc golf course has just been added. There is also a rocked boat ramp and several dirt boat ramps within the park. Bald eagles are occasionally spotted from the Bodcau Dam Road overlook as they soar over the beautiful cypress swamp.
