Provides great habitat for turkey, quail, dove, bobcat, deer, red and gray fox, mountain lion, coyote, rabbit, duck, geese, osprey, and a variety of snakes. Restoration efforts help support fish habitats in the cove, making Slate Cove a productive fishing location. Slate Cove also offers a group campsite, available only through special use permit.
