A host lives on site. Showers Point is a Day Use or tent only, group site campground that is nestled in the cool shade of tall ponderosas and an overlook of Palisade Canyon located at the campground's edge make this forested area a popular place for groups to spend a weekend or an afternoon. In addition, one of the most dramatic overlooks in the Santa Catalinas, Showers Point, is within easy walking distance. From this towering bluff, views include the lower slopes of the Santa Catalina Range and the Santa Cruz Valley stretching toward Mexico. Tall, pyramid-shaped Mt. Wrightson of the Santa Rita Mountains stands prominent on the horizon. For a closer look at the Santa Catalina back country, the Palisade Trail departs from a nearby trailhead and drops down the southwestern slopes of the mountain range to the popular Sabino Canyon Recreation Area. Several major trails are adjacent to this campground.
