This area is popular for visitors interested in floating down the river using float tubes during the summer months. McHenry Avenue Recreation Area includes one of the three Corps of Engineers managed boat-in-only primitive campgrounds on the Stanislaus River, with each site composed of a tent pad, picnic table and BBQ/fire ring. Campsites are located within close proximity of the Stanislaus River.
